Quebec has introduced a cap on family sponsorship applications, which will be in place until June 25, 2026.This new regulation aims to manage the influx of applications more efficiently and ensure a fair distribution among various categories for the upcoming years.

The total cap allows for 13,000 applications, with specific allocations for different family members. Of these, 10,400 applications are designated for spouses, common-law partners, and dependent children aged 18 and above, ensuring that immediate family members are prioritized appropriately.

The remaining 2,600 applications are reserved for parents, grandparents, and other eligible relatives. This allocation aims to balance the needs of extended families while maintaining a manageable and efficient application process for Quebec’s immigration system.
