Stay in Canada after studies until work visa approval
You cannot stay permanently in Canada after finishing your studies unless you have legal status, but you may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) or another visa.
Options to Stay Legally:
1. Apply for a PGWP (if eligible) before your study permit expires – this gives you legal status to stay and work.
2. Apply for another type of work permit (if you have a job offer).
3. Switch to a visitor visa to extend your stay, but you cannot work.
If your study permit expires before you apply, you must leave Canada and reapply from outside.
