Do I Need to Pay for Dubai Work Visa Now?

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Dubai, the employer is legally responsible for covering all costs associated with obtaining a work visa for an employee. This includes expenses related to the work permit, medical examinations, residency visa, Emirates ID, and any recruitment agency fees. Employers are strictly prohibited from charging these costs to employees, either directly or indirectly, as stipulated by UAE labor laws.

If an employer attempts to deduct visa or recruitment costs from your salary or demands reimbursement, it constitutes a violation of UAE labor regulations. In such cases, you have the right to file a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) to seek redress.

Therefore, as an employee, you should not bear any expenses related to your work visa in Dubai. If you encounter any demands for payment from your employer, it's advisable to report the issue to the MOHRE for appropriate action.
