Canada Visa: Apply from UAE Visitor Step-by-Step
"You can apply from the UAE whether you are a resident, work permit holder, student, or visitor (if allowed).
Applications are submitted online only.
1. Create an IRCC Account
Go to the official Government of Canada website and create a GCKey / IRCC account.
You will use this account to:
Upload documents
Pay fees
Submit your application
Receive visa decisions
2. Complete the Online Application Form
Inside your IRCC account, complete the form for a Visitor Visa (TRV).
You will need to answer:
Personal details
Travel history
Purpose of visit
Employment information
Family details
3. Prepare Your Required Documents
Personal Documents
Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
UAE residence visa (if applicable)
Passport-size photo
Previous visas (if any)
Proof of Funds
Bank statements (last 3–6 months)
Salary certificate
Employment letter
Pay slips
Travel Purpose Documents
Flight itinerary (optional but useful)
Hotel booking
Travel plan or invitation letter
If invited by someone in Canada

4. Pay the Fees
You must pay online:
Visitor visa fee: 100 CAD
Biometrics fee: 85 CAD
Total: 185 CAD per applicant.
5. Give Biometrics at a VFS Center in UAE
After submitting the application, you will receive a Biometrics Instruction Letter.
Book an appointment at VFS Global Canada (Dubai or Abu Dhabi).
Provide:
Fingerprints
Photograph
6. Wait for Processing
Typical processing time from UAE: 3–8 weeks (varies).
Keep checking your IRCC account for updates.
7. Submit Your Passport (If Approved)
If your visa is approved, you will receive a passport request letter.
Submit your passport to VFS for visa stamping.
You will then receive:
Your passport with TRV sticker
Confirmation of visa validity dates
8. Travel to Canada
Carry:
Passport with TRV
Proof of funds
Return ticket
Accommodation details
Invitation (if applicable)
Canada Border Services will make the final entry decision."
