How Long to Get Work Visa in Kuwait for Engineers?
The time required to process a Kuwait work visa (also called a work permit) for an Indian engineer generally takes 4 to 8 weeks, but it can vary depending on several factors.
Approximate Timeline:
1. Job Offer & Work Permit Application (1–2 weeks) - The Kuwaiti employer applies for a work permit through the Ministry of Interior. - This includes submitting your passport copy, educational and professional certificates, and an employment contract.
2. Approval & Visa Reference Number (1–2 weeks) - Once approved, the employer receives a visa reference number, which they send to you in India.
3. Medical Test & Police Clearance in India (1–2 weeks) - You must undergo a GAMCA-approved medical examination. - Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Regional Passport Office.
4. Visa Stamping (1–2 weeks) - Submit your documents and medical results to the Kuwait Embassy or Consulate in India for visa stamping.
Total Time Estimate: 4 to 8 weeks
Delays may occur due to incomplete documentation, employer delays, or public holidays.
Notes for Engineers:
