Should Modi Be PM Despite Potential US Visa Issues?

The decision to elect a Prime Minister in a democratic country like India should be based on the individual’s qualifications, leadership abilities, and the will of the people, rather than concerns over diplomatic relations with another country.

Narendra Modi has been elected as India's Prime Minister by a significant majority of the Indian people, and his tenure has seen a number of domestic and international developments that reflect his leadership. The issue of whether the U.S. gives him a visa is a separate diplomatic matter. In the past, there were concerns about Modi's visa due to his role in the 2002 Gujarat riots, but he was later issued a visa in 2014, when he became Prime Minister.

India's relationship with the United States has evolved over time, with both nations engaging in strategic, economic, and diplomatic cooperation in various sectors. While historical differences or diplomatic issues can arise, they do not automatically invalidate the legitimacy of a democratically elected leader.

Ultimately, India's national interests, internal political processes, and people's sovereignty are crucial. International relations, while important, should not override the democratic choices made by citizens.
