Job Details: Consultant – Old Age Psychiatry (Community)

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of older adults with complex mental health conditions. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, leading clinical decisions, and supporting the development of NHS mental health services for elderly patients.

Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Consultant Grade Experience: Minimum 6–7 years post-internship/foundation training
  •  Specialty Experience: Minimum 5+ years in Old Age Psychiatry
  •  Qualifications: Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, FRCS, MRCPsych, FRCR, etc.)
  •  Legal Requirement: Section 12 approved or eligible (Mental Health Act)
  •  Registration: Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  •  Language Requirement: IELTS (minimum 7.5 overall, 7.0 in each section) or OET (Grade B)
