Job Description

An NHS Trust in the East of England is seeking a Consultant in Gastroenterology to join their specialist team. This role involves diagnosing and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, functional gut disorders, and GI cancers. The consultant will play a crucial role in endoscopy services, multidisciplinary team discussions, and service development. Job Details: Consultant – Gastroenterology

The Consultant Gastroenterologist will be responsible for delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and leading gastroenterology research and teaching programs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Consultant Grade Experience: Minimum 6–7 years post-internship/foundation training
  •  Specialty Experience: Minimum 5+ years in Gastroenterology
  •  Qualifications: Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, FRCS, MRCPsych, FRCR, etc.)
  • Additional Requirement: Ideally UK Experience – International Candidates May Be Considered
  • Registration: Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Language Requirement: IELTS (minimum 7.5 overall, 7.0 in each section) or OET (Grade B)
