Job Description

An NHS Trust in the South West is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist (General Adult & Home Treatment Services - HTS) to provide expert care in community and inpatient psychiatric services. The role includes leading crisis intervention, delivering acute mental health care, and supporting service development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist to work in a modern NHS mental health facility, play a key role in Home Treatment Teams (HTT), and engage in multidisciplinary mental health care.

Job Details: Consultant – Psychiatry (General Adult & HTS)

The consultant will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating adult mental health conditions, working with crisis resolution teams, and providing specialist support in high-risk psychiatric cases.

Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Consultant Grade Experience: Minimum 6–7 years post-internship/foundation training
  •  Specialty Experience: Minimum 5+ years in psychiatry
  •  Qualifications: Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, FRCS, MRCPsych, FRCR, etc.)
  •  Registration: Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  •  UK Experience: Required
  •  Legal Requirement: Section 12 approved or eligible
  •  Language Requirement: IELTS (minimum 7.5 overall, 7.0 in each section) or OET (Grade B)
