An American woman, Vanessa from New Jersey, was deported from Jabalpur, India, for operating a mental healing camp despite her tourist visa expiring a year prior. She arrived in India three years ago on a tourist visa, which lapsed in July 2024, and continued her activities without legal permission.

Local authorities discovered her situation during a routine investigation. While staying in a rented house, she was allowed to live there without paying rent, as the landlord provided her with food due to her financial struggles.

Following the discovery, the Bargi police notified the American embassy, which assisted in securing her exit visa. Subsequently, the police arranged for her return to the United States.

In addition to her deportation, authorities are investigating how she managed to operate her healing center for an extended period after her visa expired. The inquiry aims to ensure compliance with local laws and prevent similar incidents in the future.
