EU Nationals to Need E-Visa for UK Travel from March 2025

Starting in March 2025, EU nationals will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to travel to the United Kingdom. This decision is part of the UK’s post-Brexit immigration measures aimed at strengthening border control and ensuring more efficient migration management.

The ETA application process will be done online, with a processing time of 48 to 72 hours and a fee of £10. This aligns with similar systems used by other countries, such as the U.S. and Australia.

The move impacts EU travelers who previously did not need visas for short-term stays, except for Irish citizens who are exempt from this rule. The UK government has introduced this to enhance security and manage immigration flow more effectively.
