Zimbabwe Launches Electronic Visa on Arrival for Travelers

Zimbabwe has introduced an electronic visa (eVisa) system, allowing foreign nationals from 118 countries to apply for a visa on arrival through a newly updated online portal. This new system is aimed at simplifying the travel process for eligible visitors, including both tourists and business travelers. Previously, nationals from these countries were required to apply for visas upon arrival without the convenience of electronic pre-application.

The reintroduction of the electronic visa on arrival is expected to streamline the entry process by offering a faster, more efficient way to obtain a visa. With this system in place, travelers can submit their applications online before their arrival in Zimbabwe, reducing wait times at immigration checkpoints. This change is seen as a significant improvement, particularly for countries that require visas for entry into Zimbabwe.

The new eVisa platform offers both single and double-entry visas, valid for up to three months. This update is particularly beneficial for those who need to visit Zimbabwe for short-term business or leisure purposes. However, it’s important to note that the eVisa does not allow for employment-related activities.
