What do I do? I applied for a Canadian visa but the school withdrew admission due to a delay in visa. I got a new school and changed the Designated Learning Institute. Can I enter Canada?

Canada Visa with DLI Change: Can I Enter After School Withdrawal? (New Admission Guide)

Here's what you can do in this situation:

  1. Contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC): Since your original study permit application referenced a specific Designated Learning Institute (DLI), it's important to inform IRCC about the change.

There are two ways to do this:

  • Web form: You can submit a web form through your IRCC online account explaining the situation and providing details about the new school (DLI number, acceptance letter, program start date).
  • Case-specific enquiry: If the web form option isn't available, submit a case-specific enquiry explaining the situation.

You can find information on contacting IRCC here: Ā Ā  https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/client-support-centre.html

  1. Gather Documents: When contacting IRCC, have the following documents ready:
  2. Wait for IRCC Response: IRCC will assess your situation and guide you on the next steps. They might:
    • Request additional documents: Be prepared to provide any further information they require.
    • Process your application based on the new DLI: If everything is in order, they might proceed with the application considering the new school.
    • Ask you to submit a new application: There's a possibility they might ask you to submit a fresh application with the new school details and fees.
