2024 UAE Shortage Occupation List: In-Demand Jobs

In the UAE, jobs are grouped into 9 professional levels by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), following the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) set by the International Labour Organization. Professional levels of jobs:
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) categorizes jobs in the UAE into 9 professional levels based on the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) from the International Labour Organization. These levels include:

Level 1: Legislators, managers, and business executives
Level 2: Professionals in scientific, technical, and human fields
Level 3: Technicians in scientific, technical, and humanitarian fields
Level 4: Writing professionals
Level 5: Service and sales occupations
Level 6: Skilled workers in agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry
Level 7: Craftsmen in construction, mining, and other trades
Level 8: Operators and assemblers of machinery and equipment
Level 9: Simple professions

Skilled work is classified if it meets these conditions:

  1. The worker must be at a professional level (Levels 1 to 5).
  2. The worker should hold a certificate higher than a secondary certificate, and it must be equivalent.
  3. The certificate must be attested by competent authorities.
  4. The worker's monthly salary (excluding commission) must be at least AED 4,000.
