Let us walk you through the process

  • Determine the specific visa category based on the purpose of your travel. Common categories include tourist visas for leisure purposes and business visas for professional activities.

  • Download the official visa application form. Fill out the form accurately, print it, and gather all the necessary documents required for the visa category you've chosen. These documents may include passport-sized photos, flight itinerary, hotel reservation, proof of funds, and any other specific requirements.

  • The Embassy of Peru in New Delhi allows applicants to approach its premises between 10:00-12:00 hrs from Monday to Friday, excluding Government Holidays. This is the designated time for submitting visa applications.

  • Take your complete visa application file, including the filled-out application form and supporting documents, to the Embassy during the designated hours. The Embassy will acknowledge the submission of a complete file by sending an email. This email usually contains a link to schedule a personal interview.

  • Attend the scheduled personal interview at the Embassy. The estimated processing time for tourist and business visas for Indian nationals is mentioned as 7-10 working days after the personal interview. During the interview, the consular officials may ask questions to assess the authenticity and purpose of your visit.

  • Once your visa is approved, you can collect your passport from the Embassy. This is the final step in the process.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

Here is a complete list of documents you’ll need when applying for a Visitor Visa (Short term visa) to visit Peru for various purposes, such as Tourist, holidays, visiting friends/family, attending a wedding, and more.

  1. Passport: Valid passport with a minimum validity of six months beyond the expected date of arrival in Peru.
  2. Identification: Copy of Aadhar Card.
  3. Passport Copies: Photocopies of the front and back sides of the passport.
  4. Visa Application Forms: Two (DGC 005) forms, duly typed or handwritten in block letters. Provide a valid email ID and phone number registered in the applicant’s name.
  5. Photographs: Three recent colored, passport-size photographs (4.3 X 3.5 cm) with a white background. Face size should cover between 70% – 80% of the photograph.
  6. Cover Letter: Duly signed cover letter by the applicant.
  7. Travel Itinerary: Round-trip flight itinerary to Peru.
  8. Detailed Itinerary: Day-by-day detailed activities planned while in Peru.
  9. Hotel Reservations: Hotel reservation(s) in Peru.
  10. Financial Solvency: Proof of financial solvency, such as bank statements and fixed deposits. Required even if the trip is sponsored.
  11. Income Tax Documents: Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 for one year, if applicable.
  12. Sponsorship Details (if applicable):
    • For sponsored trips, a guarantee letter from the sponsor specifying responsibility for costs and repatriation if needed.
    • Valid identification document of the sponsor (Peruvian DNI, Aadhar card, Passport, or any other valid national identification document).
    • Proof of financial solvency of the sponsor, including bank statements and fixed deposits.

Legal Penalties for Faking Documents:

Creating fake documents or electronic records with the intention of causing harm, deceiving others, or committing fraud is considered forgery under Section 463 of the Indian Penal Code. The punishment for forgery, as per Section 465, includes imprisonment for up to two years, a fine, or both.

The applicant needs to provide their information in either typed or handwritten block letters. Additionally, they must submit a valid email address and phone number under their name. Only children can use a phone number that doesn’t belong to them.

 

VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The process for applying for Peru visitor visa (Short term visa) from India typically involves the following steps:

  1. Identify the Visa Type:
    • Determine the specific visa category that suits your purpose, such as tourist or business.
  2. Start Your Application:
    • Download the visa form, fill it out, print it, and gather the required documents for your chosen visa category.
  3. Visit the Embassy During Designated Hours:
    • Approach the Embassy premises between 10:00-12:00 hrs from Monday to Friday, excluding Government Holidays.
  4. Submit Your Documents:
    • Submit your complete visa application file at the Embassy. The Embassy will acknowledge the submission through an email, including a link to schedule an interview.
  5. Personal Interview:

Visa Processing Time:

For Indian applicants, the tourist and business visa processing time is now estimated at 7-10 working days after the personal interview. Non-Indian nationals may experience an additional processing time of approximately 10 working days.

Important notes:

  • You can only submit and process visa applications at the Peru Embassy in New Delhi.
  • Applicants need to submit their documents at the Embassy, except for minors.
  • Exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case
  • The Embassy doesn’t charge any extra fees apart from the official visa cost.
  • Submitting a complete visa application and supporting documents does not guarantee automatic issuance of a visa.
