How Old is This Place?
The Delta Works were built in response to the 1953 North Sea Flood, one of the worst natural disasters in Dutch history. Construction began in 1954 and was completed in phases, with the final project finished in 1997. The Delta Works are over 70 years old and continue to be maintained and improved.
