  • First, find out which visa you need and make sure you can apply for it. Also, learn about the papers you must give with your application, how long it might take, and the fees you must pay.
  • Your application has to follow the rules for your type of visa. If your papers are not in English, you might need translations before you apply.

  • After preparing, you can download the visa application form, fill it out, print it, and take it to the Visa Application Centre along with the needed documents for your chosen visa category.

  • After filling out your visa form, you can simply drop it off at the visa application center without scheduling an appointment.
  • Just be sure to check the center's opening hours beforehand.

  • Once you've applied, you'll need to pay the visa application fee. If you download the form to print and take to the Visa Application Centre, you'll pay the fee during your appointment.

  • At the Visa Application Centre, you'll need to submit your completed visa application form in person.
  • You can find out what happens there by inquiring directly at the Visa Application Centre or by checking their website for more information.

  • You'll get an email update when your decision is back at the Visa Application Centre. If you can't check email easily, you might be able to get updates by SMS on your phone.
  • See if this option is available where you're applying. You can also track your visa application status online using the Reference Number from the invoice/receipt and your last name.

  • Once your visa application is decided, you can either get your passport from the Visa Application Centre or have it delivered to you by courier for an extra charge. Remember, for applications submitted outside Delhi, you must pay for the courier both ways.
  • If you're collecting it yourself, bring the receipt from the Visa Application Centre and a government ID. You might be able to send someone else with a signed authorization letter, the receipt, and their own ID.
