The updated system offers two primary routes:

Salary Thresholds and Positive List Expansion
To ensure fair wages, Denmark has raised minimum salary requirements, with most roles requiring monthly pay starting at DKK 18,000. Through the Pay Limit Scheme, professionals earning above DKK 478,000 annually can fast-track their applications, even if their occupation is not on the shortage list.
The Positive List of shortage occupations has been significantly expanded from July 2025, now covering 190 higher-education professions and 65 skilled trade roles, ranging from IT technicians and engineers to chefs and healthcare specialists.
Processing Times and Fees
Visa applications can be filed online via Denmark Immigration or VFS Global and typically take 1–3 months to process. Fast-track applications may be completed within 30–45 days.
