India has widened its Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility for eligible UAE nationals, extending the service to nine international airports as part of efforts to boost bilateral travel and tourism. The expansion now covers major entry points including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Calicut and Ahmedabad.
Under the updated policy, UAE citizens who have previously held an Indian e-Visa or a regular visa can avail the Visa-on-Arrival for stays of up to 60 days. The facility also permits double entry within the validity period, offering greater flexibility for business, tourism or medical travel. Officials confirmed that there is no annual limit on the number of times an eligible UAE national can use the VoA.
The initiative excludes UAE nationals with Pakistani lineage through a parent or grandparent, who must continue to apply via Indian embassies or consulates. Applicants are required to carry a valid passport with six months’ validity, photographs, proof of funds, accommodation details, and return or onward travel tickets. A processing fee of ₹2,000 applies to each traveler, including children.
Indian authorities said the move aims to streamline entry for Gulf travelers and strengthen air connectivity. The UAE remains one of India’s largest travel markets, with airlines on both sides expected to benefit from increased short-notice and repeat travel following the expansion.
