    Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders

    Certain countries have agreements with Nepal for visa exemptions, allowing the following passport holders to enter, stay, exit, and transit through Nepal without a visa:

    Passport holders from the following countries enjoy visa exemptions:

    • Thailand: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Russian Federation: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • People’s Republic of China: Exemption for up to 30 days
    • Federal Republic of Brazil: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Myanmar: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Vietnam: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Cambodia: Exemption for up to 30 days
    • Mongolia: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Jordan: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • State of Israel: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Georgia: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • State of Qatar: Exemption for up to 90 days
    • Oman: Exemption for up to 90 days

    (Please note that visa regulations apply after the specified exemption period.)

    Diplomats and officials with Diplomatic and Official Passport working at the following diplomatic missions in Nepal, as well as their dependents with Diplomatic and Official Passport staying with them, are exempt from visa requirements throughout their tenure in Nepal:

    1. Russian Federation
    2. People's Republic of China
    3. Federal Republic of Brazil

    Diplomatic and Official Passport holders must pass through specific Immigration Posts when entering and exiting Nepal:

    1. Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu
    2. Kakarbhitta, Jhapa
    3. Birgunj, Parsa
    4. Belhia, Bhairahawa
    5. Nepalgunj, Bake
    6. Mohana, Kailali
    7. Gaddachwoki, Mahendranagar
    8. Kodari, Sindhupalchwok
    9. Rashuwagadi, Rasuwa

Effective from 1st October 2000 an Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Nepal. Under the Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship, Indian nationals can travel to Nepal without a visa and stay for an unlimited period.

VISA FOR INDIAN NATIONALS:

Indian citizens traveling between India and Nepal by air are required to carry the following documents to establish their identity as Indian citizens:
1. Valid Indian passport
