VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The process for applying for a Denmark Study visa (also known as a Residence permit) from Bangladesh typically involves the following steps:

  1. Choose a Program and University: Select a study program and university in Denmark. Make sure the program is taught in English unless you’re proficient in Danish.
  2. Get Acceptance Letter: Apply to your chosen university and obtain an acceptance letter, which is necessary for your visa application.
  3. Obtain Your Case Order ID: Visit the SIRI website and generate a unique case order ID for your visa application. Fill in your personal information under the ‘Higher Education’ case type to receive the case order number.
  4. Settle the Visa Fee: Pay the visa fee, determined by specific agreements or obligations. Exemptions may apply under certain circumstances, but obtaining a Case Order ID is still necessary.
  5. Compile Necessary Documents: Gather all required documents for your visa application, including the acceptance letter, evidence of financial means, and other relevant materials. Ensure all mandatory documents are included, and prepare them in digital format for online applications.
  6. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the visa application form with the help of your educational institution. Depending on the application method (online or printable form), your institution may need to complete initial sections.
  7. Submit Your Application: If applying online, your submission goes directly to SIRI for processing. Otherwise, submit your application at a SIRI branch office if you’re in Denmark, or at a Danish diplomatic mission or application center if you’re outside Denmark.
  8. Enroll Your Biometrics: Enroll your biometric information, including photograph and fingerprints, at a Danish diplomatic mission abroad or a SIRI branch office.
  9. Await a Response: Your application will undergo processing for approximately two months (60 days). You’ll receive updates on your application status via email or SMS. Upon approval, you can travel to Denmark and enroll in your chosen academic courses.

Processing time:

  • Normal processing time is 2 months.

If you’re under 18:

  • If you’re under 18, both parents must sign a consent form for you to study in Denmark.
  • You need to show who has custody over you by providing your birth certificate and your parents’ passport data page copies.
  • Your school must ensure you have proper living and studying conditions in Denmark.

Important notes:

  • Citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland need a EU residence document, not a residence permit.
  • A residence permit lets you live and study in Denmark for its validity period.
  • With the permit, you can stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days within a 180-day period but can’t work there.
  • Don’t leave Denmark for over 6 months or change your Danish address, or your permit will lapse, and you’ll lose the right to stay.
  • If you need to be abroad longer, you can apply for permission to keep your permit active.
