  • Each visa type has specific requirements, documentation, and processing procedures. Research and understand the eligibility criteria, application forms, and supporting documents for a smooth application process.
  • Consult the Czech Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its consulates/embassies in your home country for up-to-date and accurate information on visa types that best suit your travel or immigration purpose

Get started with your visa application

  • Download the visa application form from the designated website when you are ready to apply.
  • Complete the downloaded visa application form, print it, and bring the completed form with you to the Visa Application Centre for submission.
  • Opt for the Digital Document Check service while booking your appointment to have your visa application form and documents reviewed online before visiting the centre, ensuring a faster, safer, and hassle-free appointment experience.

Choose a Visa Application Centre and make an appointment

  • New slots open every second Monday of the month at 2 pm for visa appointments.
  • Appointment confirmation and a letter will be sent via email after booking.
  • Family members need to book individual appointments.
  • Rescheduling of appointments is only allowed within 24 hours of booking.
  • Citizens of India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh should book appointments at the VFS Global visa center in Delhi.

Attend your scheduled appointment

  • Complete visa application forms must be submitted in person at the Visa Application Centre.
  • At the Visa Application Centre, applicants will be issued a token number and will be served in the order of their assigned token number.
  • The processing time may exceed the duration mentioned on the appointment letter, as it depends on the number of applications being submitted by individuals at the counter.

Stay informed about the progress of your application

  • An email notification will be sent to you when a decision has been made on your visa application and returned to the Visa Application Centre.
  • Some Visa Application Centres may offer SMS updates if you prefer or have limited access to email. Check if this service is available at the Centre you are visiting.
  • You can track your visa application status online using the Reference Number mentioned on the invoice/receipt issued by the Visa Application Centre, along with your last name.

Receive your passport from the Visa Application Centre

  • After a visa application decision, you can collect your documents from the Visa Application Centre or have them returned by courier for an additional fee. Some Centres only offer courier return.
  • For document collection in person, bring the receipt issued by the Centre and a valid government identification. Authorized representatives can collect on your behalf with a letter of authorization, the receipt, and their identification.
  • Check with the Visa Application Centre for available document collection options during your appointment.
  • Third-party collection of passports or documents is generally not allowed, except for immediate family members (with relationship proof), one member collecting for the entire group, or authorized government officials or company representatives (with appropriate authorization).
  • If you want the passport delivered to your office, mention it in the covering letter and provide the office address in the courier request form.

  • Hold at Location service allows applicants to hold their courier or passport collection at the New Delhi Visa Application Centre instead of their current city in India, with a fee of INR 500 per application.
  • Prime Time Collection enables applicants to collect their passport from the Centre on Saturdays between 09:00 and 16:00 in Delhi, with an additional charge of 500 INR.
  • On Demand Mobile Visa service provides the convenience of submitting the visa application form, documents, and biometric data at your home or office. Contact the provided phone number or email to schedule an appointment for this service.
  • Once processed, the passport will be returned to you via courier. The Mobile Biometric team will get in touch after receiving your request.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

Here is a comprehensive document checklist for applying for a visa to visit the Czech Republic (Holiday, visit friends/family, attend a wedding etc.) visitor visa to Czech Republic across different categories. Documents to be provided by all visa applicants must be in English and must be Original.

  1. Application form: The application form must be completely filled out and signed by the applicant.
  2. Valid passport: The passport should meet the following criteria:
    • Issued within the last 10 years
    • Valid for at least three months beyond the scheduled return date
    • Must have at least two empty pages
  3. Passport-sized photos: Submit two recent color passport-sized photos with a white background. The applicant's face should cover at least 80% of the frame, following the specifications laid down by ICAO.
  4. Proof of means of transport: Provide flight reservations to and from the Schengen area.
  5. Proof of lodging: Submit proof of accommodation such as hotel reservations, rental agreements, or a letter of sponsorship and private accommodation if staying with a family member or friend. If traveling to multiple Schengen states, provide proof of lodging in each of them.
  6. Cover letter: Include a signed cover letter from the applicant explaining the purpose of the visit to the Czech Republic and the entire travel plan (itinerary).
  7. Business trips:
    • Invitation from the inviting company or organization
    • Cover letter from the applicant's employer confirming:
      a) The applicant's identity
      b) The purpose of the journey (meetings, conferences, training, or business-related events)
      c) The period and place of intended stay
  8. Travel medical insurance: Provide valid travel medical insurance that covers the applicant for at least 30,000 EUR or equivalent. The policy should specify the period of validity and cover the entire duration of the trip, including the date of arrival and departure.
  9. Proof of financial means
    • Original private bank statement: Submit the original bank statement for the last three months, duly stamped and signed by the bank. Each applicant/sponsor should provide their own bank statement.
    • Indian income tax return acknowledgment: Include the acknowledgment of income tax returns for the past three assessment years.
    • If employed: Provide pay slips for the last three months, copy of employment contract, and employer's statement of holiday approval.
    • If a company owner/self-employed: Submit the certificate of company registration.
    • If sponsored: Complete the national form of the Schengen State, provide pension statements (if applicable), proof of regular income from property/business, and written consent certified by a public notary (if trip is sponsored by someone else).

For minors:

  • Traveling with only one parent: Written consent certified by a public notary from the other parent or guardian, unless one parent has sole custody or guardianship.
  • Traveling alone (without parents): Written consent certified by a public notary from both parents or guardians with custody or guardianship.
  • Copies of parents' passports: Include copies of parents' passports. If not applicable, provide the applicant's birth certificate and copies of parents' ID cards.
  • Pupils and students: Proof of enrollment in school or university.

Additional Documents must be submitted for :
Clear photocopy of the first and last page of the passport and at least two Schengen visas, if applicable.

For journeys undertaken for the purpose of:

  1. Study, research, or other types of internship:
    • Certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment or a cover letter from the inviting company.
    • Certificates from the educational establishment where the applicant is enrolled.
    • Copy of the Student's ID Card.
  2. Tourism:
    • Certificate from the travel agency confirming the booking of an organized trip or any other appropriate document indicating travel plans.
    • Marriage certificate (if married) or copy of the ration card (if applicable) as evidence of marital status in case it's not mentioned in the passport.
  3. Visiting family/friends:
    • Marriage certificate (if married) or copy of the ration card (if applicable) as evidence of marital status in case it's not mentioned in the passport.
    • Certificate proving the existence of family relationship if visiting relatives.
  4. Cultural, sports, or religious events and film crews:
    • Invitation, entry tickets, enrollments, or programs.
    • For film crews:
      a) Letter from the film company specifying film title, synopsis, shooting locations;
      b) Complete list of names and roles of traveling crew members;
      c) Letter from the Schengen State's agency confirming film permits arrangements;
      d) Certificate of registration with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association or Film Chamber of Commerce.
  5. Journeys of members of official delegations:
    • Copy of the official invitation.
    • Note verbale issued by the sending authority(ies) confirming the identity of the applicant, purpose of the journey, period of intended stay, and place of stay.
  6. Journeys undertaken for medical treatment:
    • Certificate from a medical doctor or institution confirming the need for specific medical treatment in the Czech Republic.
    • Official document from the receiving medical institution confirming the acceptance of the patient and ability to perform the specific medical treatment.
    • Proof of pre-payment for the treatment.
    • Any other correspondence between the sending medical doctor and the receiving medical institution.
  7. Airport transit:
    • Visa or other entry permit for the third country of destination.
    • Documents related to the onward journey to the final destination after the intended airport transit.
