Visa Fee and Service Charges Information

  • Visa fees are provided in USD for reference and are payable in INR.
  • All applicants are required to pay the visa fee at the VFS center.
  • The service fee, which includes convenience charges, is INR 2970 per applicant.
  • Additional charges for value-added services, inclusive of taxes, are as follows:
  • Video Conferencing Charges: INR 3200 (applicable if the Embassy requests an interview).

For Nepalese Applicants:

  • A service fee of NPR 3944 per applicant will be applicable, along with any charges for value-added services.

Important Notes:

  • Visa fees and VFS charges are non-refundable.
  • The visa fees listed apply only to Indian nationals.
  • Double the standard consular fee will be charged for urgent processing.

Step-by-step guide

Let us walk you through the process

  • The first thing to do is figure out which visa you need and make sure you can apply for it. You should also find out what documents you need to send with your application, how long it might take, and the fees you have to pay.
  • Your application must follow the rules for your visa type. If your documents are not in English, you might have to get them translated before applying.

  • You can also download the visa application form, fill it out, print it, and take the completed form with you to the Ukraine Visa Application Centre for submission.

  • After you've completed your visa form, you should set up an appointment at a Ukraine Visa Application Centre to have your biometric data taken, which includes fingerprints and a photo.
  • Once you've successfully scheduled your appointment, you'll get an email confirming the date and a letter for the appointment. If you're with family or a group, make sure to book separate appointments for each person.

  • After sending your application, you'll need to pay the visa fee. If you download and print the form to bring to the Ukraine Visa Application Centre, you'll pay during your appointment there.
  • The Visa Application Centre is where you can make the visa fee payment.

  • You'll get an email notification once your decision is back at the Ukraine Visa Application Centre. If you prefer SMS updates or don't have easy email access, check if this option is offered at the Centre you're visiting.
  • You can also check your visa application status online using the Reference Number from your invoice/receipt and your last name.

  • After your visa decision, get your passport at the Ukraine Visa Application Centre or pay extra for courier delivery. For in-person collection, bring your Centre receipt and ID. Representatives need your authorization letter, their ID, and your receipt. Check Centre hours and options. Note: COVID-19 makes courier delivery mandatory.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

When applying for a student visa (Long-stay visa D) to Ukraine from India, you will generally need to provide a comprehensive set of documents to support your application. The following checklist covers the most common documents needed:

  1. Visa Application Form: A signed visa application form.
  2. Travel Documents: Your valid passport or travel document.
  3. Passport Photos: One passport-sized photo (35 x 45 mm).
  4. Passport and Previous Visas: Two photocopies of your passport, including previous visas from Ukraine, USA, UK, Schengen, and Australia.
  5. Residence Documentation: Residence documents (valid residence permits or equivalents) if you live in a different country than your nationality.
  6. Medical and Travel Insurance: Proof of valid medical and travel insurance with at least €30,000 coverage (original and copy).
  7. Financial Proof: Original proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay, including:
    • Three months’ bank statements with a minimum balance of USD 2,500.
    • Cash in Ukrainian hryvnia or other convertible currency.
    • Accommodation details.
    • Sponsorship letter (original and copy).
  8. Invitation Letter: Original and copy of the invitation letter from a Ukrainian university.
  9. Educational Documents: Copy of your previous graduation diploma and transcript, translated and certified.
  10. Medical Certificate: Medical certificate, translated and certified.
  11. Birth Certificate: Birth certificate, translated and certified.
  12. Original Documents: Copy of the original documents you submitted with the visa application.
  13. Legalization for Applicants Outside India: Applicants from outside India must legalize their documents through their home country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
  14. Additional Documents and Notices: Please be aware that Ukraine’s visa officers may request additional documents like return flight tickets or other documents based on your circumstances.
  15. Minor Applicants: If the applicant is a minor, include their birth certificate.

Note:

Please remember that Birth and Marriage Certificates must be translated into Ukrainian and notarized by authorities in Ukraine or the Ukrainian Embassy. Translations from Indian translators will not be accepted.

VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The process for applying for a Ukraine study visa (Long-Stay Visa D) from India typically involves the following steps:

  1. Get an Invitation Letter: Obtain an invitation letter from a Ukrainian educational institution, signed by the rector of the institution, confirming your admission to a program of study.
  2. Complete Online Visa Application: Fill out the online visa application form, which can typically be found on the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  3. Prepare Supporting Documents: Gather the necessary supporting documents, including: Valid passport, Two passport-sized photos, Copies of your invitation and admission letters, Copy of your medical insurance policy, Copy of your bank statement showing sufficient funds for living expenses and etc.
  4. Submit Your Visa Application: Take your completed visa application form and supporting documents to a VFS Global visa application center. VFS Global provides visa processing services on behalf of the Ukrainian government and has centers in major cities in India.
  5. Pay the Visa Fee: Pay the visa fee, which is currently USD 85. Keep the receipt as proof of payment.
  6. Attend a Visa Interview: After submitting your application, you may be required to attend a visa interview at the Ukrainian embassy or consulate in India. Be prepared to discuss your study plans and intentions.
  7. Receive Visa Sticker: If your visa application is approved, you will receive a visa sticker that must be placed in your passport. With the visa sticker, you can travel to Ukraine and commence your studies.
  8. Plan Ahead: Keep in mind that the visa application process can take several weeks, so it’s crucial to start planning well in advance of your intended departure date.
  9. Stay Informed: Stay updated with the latest visa requirements and procedures by checking the official website of the Ukrainian embassy or consulate in India.
  10. Register in Ukraine: After arriving in Ukraine, you may need to register with local authorities, such as the State Migration Service. Your educational institution should provide guidance on this process.
