Attention! When visiting Azerbaijan in a group, each person has to pay a visa fee individually. You can pay the fee through the relevant account number provided by Azerbaijan’s diplomatic missions and consulates in foreign countries.

  • Identify the type of visa you need, check your eligibility, and find out the required documents, processing time, and fees.

  • Collect a valid passport, completed visa application form, passport-sized photos, proof of accommodation, travel itinerary, financial documents, and other papers as specified by the Azerbaijani embassy or consulate.

  • Fill out the form accurately and attach the required documents according to the instructions. Visa application can be done through an electronic application form.

  • Visit the Azerbaijani Embassy's Visa Section during business hours (Tuesday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for submissions and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for collections) to submit your form and documents.

  • Prepare to pay the required fee, which varies depending on the visa type and processing time. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card.

  • Once approved, you'll receive a visa sticker in your passport. Make sure to pay the fee before collecting your visa.

VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The process for applying for a Permanent Residence in Azerbaijan typically involves the following steps:

Foreigners and stateless individuals who have been living in Azerbaijan for at least 2 years continuously with a valid permit can apply for permanent residence, except those who have a temporary residence permit as family members of foreigners or stateless individuals already granted a permit under specific provisions.

  1. Determine Eligibility: Review the eligibility criteria for permanent residency in Azerbaijan, which may include requirements related to length of stay, employment, family ties, or investment in the country.
  2. Gather Required Documents: Collect all necessary documents, which may include but are not limited to the following: a passport copy, birth certificate for minors, health certificate, proof of financial stability, copy of your residence permit, document confirming valid grounds for residence, passport-sized photos, consent for minors, proof of residential address, a letter of accommodation from the host if applicable, the host’s identification document if applicable, and a payment receipt.
  3. Submit Application: Submit the completed application form and all required documents to the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan or the relevant authorities in person or through an authorized representative. Make sure to pay any necessary application fees.
  4. Attend Interviews or Medical Examinations: Be prepared to attend any interviews or medical examinations as requested by the authorities during the application process.
  5. Wait for Processing: The processing time for permanent residency applications can vary. Be patient and follow up with the authorities if necessary, while ensuring that you remain compliant with the regulations and requirements.
  6. Receive Decision: Once your application is processed, you will receive a decision on your permanent residency application. If approved, you will be issued a permanent residency permit.
  7. Complete Registration: After receiving your permanent residency permit, make sure to complete any required registration with the relevant local authorities within the specified time frame.

Important notes:

  • If you want to stay in Azerbaijan for a while, try not to leave for more than 90 days at a time within 6 months.
  • If you’re not from Azerbaijan, apply for permission to stay there permanently at least 3 months before your current permission runs out.
  • The people in charge of deciding whether you can stay permanently are from the State Migration Service. How long it takes depends on how much money you pay.
  • When you first get permission to stay forever, it’s good for 5 years. You can ask to stay longer as many times as you need.
  • They check if you understand the rules in Azerbaijan and if you can speak their language. But if you’re under 18, over 65, or have a serious disability, you might not need to do this (if you have proof).

Conditions to obtain Permanent Residency in Azerbaijan:

  1. If they have a close relationship with a citizen of Azerbaijan.
  2. If they invest at least 500,000 manats in the country’s economy.
  3. If they own real estate worth at least 100,000 manats in Azerbaijan.
  4. If they deposit a minimum of 100,000 manats in Azerbaijani banks based on a term deposit agreement.
  5. If they are highly skilled in fields like economics, industry, military, science, culture, or sports.
  6. If they are specialists invited by Azerbaijani citizens or legal entities to work in specific areas determined by the President.
  7. If they are family members of foreigners or stateless persons living in Azerbaijan.
  8. If they hold leadership positions in a foreign company’s branch or representation in Azerbaijan.
  9. If they hold leadership positions in a company established in Azerbaijan, with at least one foreign individual or entity as a founder.
  10. If they are involved in entrepreneurial activities in Azerbaijan.
