An Ahmedabad resident, Mohammad Fahad Sheikh, lost Rs 14.7 lakh in a scam involving fake Australian student visas. He was promised a student visa and a job in Australia by a couple, Jignesh and Jaya Rathore. After transferring the money, Sheikh attempted to fly to Australia, only to discover that his visa was fraudulent when immigration officials flagged it.

Despite repeated attempts, including trying to board a flight from Mumbai, Sheikh's visa remained invalid. He subsequently filed a police complaint, seeking justice for the financial loss.

The scam highlights growing concerns around fraudulent visa services targeting aspiring international students. This incident serves as a reminder of the need for caution when dealing with unverified visa agents.

Sheikh's case is now under investigation by local authorities, with hopes of tracking down the culprits behind the scam.
