Blue Visa UAE: 10-Year Residency Permit Introduced
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched the Blue Visa, a 10-year residency permit dedicated to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability. This new initiative was announced during the World Governments Summit 2025, held in Dubai from February 11 to 13, and aligns with the UAE’s vision to lead global efforts in climate action and sustainable development.
Who Is Eligible?
The Blue Visa is designed for experts, innovators, and leaders actively working in sustainability, environmental conservation, and climate solutions. Eligible applicants include:

✅ Leaders of international sustainability organizations
✅ Innovators in green technology and the circular economy
✅ Experts in marine and land conservation
✅ Specialists in air quality and climate resilience
✅ Global award winners in environmental protection
How Does It Work?
- The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) will process applications.
- Candidates can apply directly or be nominated by UAE government authorities.
- The first phase of the program will issue Blue Visas to 20 sustainability pioneers, with further expansions expected.

The Blue Visa complements the UAE’s Golden Visa (for investors and professionals) and Green Visa (for skilled workers and freelancers). By offering long-term residency to environmental leaders, the UAE aims to:
