Bulgaria is set to expand its visa services for Indian nationals by launching long-term visa application centres across six major cities in India, starting November 1, 2025. The initiative, in partnership with VFS Global, aims to make it easier for Indians to apply for Visa D, which is required for long-term stays in Bulgaria for purposes such as work, study, or family reunification.
Initially, the service will begin at the New Delhi centre on November 1, followed by the rollout in Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad from mid-November. Until now, applicants seeking long-term Bulgarian visas had to travel to New Delhi, but the new expansion will make the process more accessible and convenient for residents across India.
The Bulgarian Embassy in New Delhi said the move reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, educational cooperation, and business exchanges with India. It also aligns with Bulgaria’s broader efforts to attract skilled professionals and international students.
Applicants can book appointments online through VFS Global’s official website and must provide all necessary documentation, including proof of employment, university admission, or family sponsorship. The new centres will offer improved facilities and streamlined processing to handle the growing demand for long-term visa applications.
This development is expected to boost mobility and cooperation between the two nations, providing Indian professionals, students, and families with greater access to opportunities in Bulgaria.
