China has announced an expansion of its visa-free policy for citizens of 38 countries, allowing them to stay for up to 30 days without requiring a visa. This new rule, effective from November 30, 2024, until the end of 2025, aims to boost tourism and international exchanges. Previously, travelers could stay visa-free for 15 days, but the limit has now been extended.

The policy, which first launched in December 2023, now includes more countries and introduces a new "Type F exchange visits" category for educational and cultural exchanges. The government hopes this change will encourage more people to visit China, benefiting the country’s tourism and economy.

Since its introduction, the visa-free stay option has been popular, with nearly 5 million visitors utilizing it in 2024 alone. The expansion of the policy demonstrates China’s commitment to fostering international relationships and making travel more accessible.

Travelers can stay for tourism or exchange purposes under this new policy, which applies to various countries across different continents. This initiative is part of China’s broader strategy to increase global tourism and create new diplomatic opportunities.
