The Sirsa police are investigating two separate fraud cases where victims were cheated of a total of Rs 33 lakh with promises of jobs abroad. In the first case, Sudesh Kumar, a resident of Farwai Kalan village, was arrested for deceiving four youths of Rs 29.73 lakh. The accused had promised to send the victims to Germany on work visas, but instead, he sent them to Armenia and Dubai.
The complaint was filed by Pawan Kumar, a resident of Darba Kalan village. Sudesh Kumar was arrested, and Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan confirmed that he would be presented in court for remand. The police are working to recover the cheated amount and identify Sudesh's accomplices during the investigation.
In the second case, Gurpreet Singh from Mandi Ding filed a complaint against Ranjit Singh, Poonam, and her husband, who ran an office called ‘Dream to Destination’ in Jalandhar. The accused promised to send Gurpreet’s sister, Arshdeep Kaur, to Canada, but after taking Rs 3.24 lakh and the necessary documents, they failed to process her application.
Despite refunding only Rs 50,000, the accused stopped responding to Gurpreet's calls. Gurpreet then filed a complaint with the Sirsa police, leading to the registration of an FIR. Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan assured that strict action would be taken against all those involved in these frauds.
