Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a significant move to enhance safety and organization, Saudi Arabia has announced new regulations for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, including a ban on children and stricter visa policies.

Key Changes for Hajj 2025:

  • Children Prohibited: To manage overcrowding and ensure a safer pilgrimage, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has banned children from attending Hajj. Officials emphasize that young children face increased risks in large crowds.
  • Priority for First-Time Pilgrims: Saudi authorities will give preference to first-time pilgrims, ensuring more Muslims can perform the religious duty at least once in their lifetime.
  • New Payment System: Domestic pilgrims can now pay for their Hajj package in three installments—a 20% deposit within 72 hours of booking, followed by two 40% payments by Ramadan 20 and Shawwal 20.
  • Visa Restrictions: From February 1, 2025, single-entry visas will be enforced for travelers from 14 countries, including India, preventing unauthorized Hajj participation via multiple-entry visas.

These measures are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to streamline the pilgrimage experience and enhance safety. Pilgrims are advised to register through official channels to comply with the new regulations.
