A Mohali resident, identified as Kuldeep Gill from Sunny Enclave, Kharar, has been arrested by the Sohana Police for allegedly defrauding individuals of nearly ₹55 lakh under the pretext of providing overseas jobs and immigration services.

According to police reports, Gill operated an office named Quinox Solutions in Sector 78, Mohali. He allegedly collected ₹54.98 lakh from a complainant in Yamunanagar, Haryana, promising foreign settlement opportunities that never materialised. The accused failed to deliver on his assurances, leading the victim to file a complaint.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and Section 24 of the Immigration Act. The accused has been remanded in police custody for two days.

Investigators revealed that Gill has seven previous FIRs lodged against him at Sohana police station for similar immigration scams. Authorities are now probing his financial transactions and identifying other possible victims who may have fallen prey to the same fraudulent scheme.

Police have urged the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of immigration and visa service providers before making any payments. Victims of similar frauds are advised to come forward and file official complaints.
