The Kuwaiti government has introduced a groundbreaking digital visa system that allows many visas to be issued in as little as five minutes, making it one of the world’s fastest visa processes.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al‑Yousef Al‑Sabah highlighted that the platform welcomes all foreign nationals, provided they comply with Kuwait’s laws and values. The system facilitates online applications for tourist, business, and transit visas, leveraging automated checks and passport data scanning to accelerate processing.
The initiative is part of Kuwait’s broader digital transformation and immigration reform agenda, aimed at enhancing service delivery, boosting tourism, and attracting international business. While the process is highly efficient, applicants remain subject to standard security screening upon arrival.
Visa fees start from approximately 3 Kuwaiti Dinars for certain visitor categories. Authorities have emphasized that the five‑minute issuance applies under normal conditions and may vary depending on additional checks or documentation requirements.
