In an effort to rectify last year’s visa scandal, Poland has substantially cut the number of work visas issued to foreign nationals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland revealed that the number of work visas issued by Polish consulates has decreased by one-third.
Alongside reducing the number of visas granted to foreign workers, Polish authorities have also tightened the visa-issuing rules for foreigners seeking to visit family members working in Poland. This step is part of a broader effort to enhance the integrity of the visa process and prevent misuse.
A Polish consul in an Asian country noted improvements following these measures, emphasizing that stricter controls have closed the door to those attempting to enter Poland through irregular means or bribery. The consul highlighted that the efforts are ensuring that only those meeting the requirements can obtain visas, thereby reducing abuse.
