Romanians Gain Visa-Free US Travel Starting 2025

Starting in 2025, Romania will join the list of countries whose citizens can travel to the United States without a visa. This move was officially confirmed by the U.S. government, marking a significant development in Romania's relationship with the U.S. and its participation in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Under this program, Romanian citizens will be able to visit the U.S. for tourism, business, or transit for up to 90 days without the need to apply for a traditional visa. This change comes after years of diplomatic efforts by Romania to gain this privilege.

Romania's inclusion in the VWP is seen as a milestone for the country, which has been working to meet the program's stringent requirements.
