Saudi Arabia has unveiled a new instant eVisa platform designed to simplify travel procedures for tourists, family visitors, and Umrah pilgrims, as part of its efforts to strengthen tourism under Vision 2030.
The new system enables travellers from over 60 eligible countries to apply online and, in some cases, receive visa approval within a minute. The digital platform supports both single-entry and multiple-entry visas, depending on the applicant’s purpose of travel.
Under the updated policy, a single-entry visa allows stays of up to 90 days, valid for three months from the date of issuance. Meanwhile, a multiple-entry visa remains valid for one year, permitting multiple 90-day visits during its validity period.
The total visa cost includes an $80 application fee, along with additional charges of $10.50 each for digital services and digital insurance. Applicants must hold a passport valid for at least six months, proof of sufficient funds, and health insurance coverage.
Permitted activities under the eVisa include visiting family or friends, tourism, attending cultural events, and performing Umrah outside the Hajj season. However, the eVisa does not grant permission to work or participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Officials say the initiative reflects the Kingdom’s broader push to diversify its economy, promote hospitality, and make Saudi Arabia a more accessible global destination.
Travellers are advised to apply only through the official government portal to ensure authenticity and avoid fraudulent intermediaries. The move marks another milestone in Saudi Arabia’s transition toward a fully digital visa and border management system.
