Saudi Arabia has launched a pioneering credit card–linked visa system that allows eligible travelers to obtain a tourist visa within minutes using only their Visa credit card and passport details. Announced during the TOURISE 2025 summit by Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader strategy to simplify entry procedures and accelerate tourism growth.
Called “Visa by Profile,” the system has been developed through a collaboration between the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Tourism Authority, and Visa. The new process eliminates traditional requirements such as embassy visits, paperwork, and biometric submissions, offering a fully digital, real-time approval experience.
According to officials, the platform verifies a traveler’s identity and eligibility through their card profile, enabling swift e-visa issuance. The move supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals by enhancing visitor accessibility, boosting international arrivals, and positioning the Kingdom as a global leader in travel-tech innovation.
Tourism authorities expect the credit card–based visa model to significantly increase inbound travel, particularly from high-potential markets, by making Saudi Arabia one of the easiest destinations to enter in the region.
