Thailand Introduces Online Work Permit Portal for Foreigners

Thailand has officially launched a mandatory online work permit system for foreign workers, effective October 13, 2025. The new e-Work Permit portal aims to streamline work permit applications, renewals, and tracking, offering greater efficiency and transparency for both employers and employees.

Key Features:

• Digital Registration: Foreign workers and Thai employers must register on the portal.
• Identity Verification: Employers or authorized representatives are required to verify their identity via the ThaiID mobile app.
• Online Application & Renewal: Users can submit new applications, renew permits, and monitor status in real time.
• 24/7 Access: The portal is available round-the-clock, allowing convenient submission and management of applications.

Implementation:
Authorities have indicated a brief transition period, during which limited manual submissions may still be accepted. Employers and foreign workers are encouraged to adopt the system promptly to ensure compliance and avoid delays.
