Thailand is set to implement a mandatory online system for work permits and foreign worker registrations starting October 13, 2025. The new platform, named e-Work Permit, aims to streamline processes, reduce paperwork, and provide faster approvals for foreign employees and their employers.
Under the new system, all foreign workers and employers must register online for work permits and foreign worker registrations. The platform will enable real-time application tracking and facilitate faster processing of approvals, minimizing delays associated with traditional paperwork submissions.
Employers and foreign employees are required to register on the e-Work Permit system, and company directors or authorized personnel must verify their identity via the ThaiID mobile app before using the platform. While limited manual filings may be accepted during the transition, authorities encourage a swift migration to the new system.
Officials have highlighted that early preparation and familiarization with the e-Work Permit system will help ensure a smooth transition and avoid disruptions in processing applications.
This move aligns with Thailand’s broader efforts to modernize administrative processes and enhance compliance in the foreign labor sector.
