Three travel agents from Ludhiana have been booked for allegedly defrauding two residents of Hoshiarpur by promising work visas to Kuwait in exchange for ₹75,000.

  • Accused Individuals: Kamalpreet Singh, Bhupinder Singh, and Aman Grewal, all associated with RS Enterprises.
  • Complainant: Mandeep Singh, 32, from Sainpur Bhagowal village in Hoshiarpur.
  • Allegations:
    • Mandeep Singh and his acquaintance, Jagtar Singh from Haryana village in Hoshiarpur, approached the accused for assistance in obtaining work permits for Kuwait.
    • The agents allegedly collected ₹35,000 from Mandeep and ₹40,000 from Jagtar, assuring them that the visas would be processed within two to three months.
    • After receiving the payments, the agents neither arranged the visas nor refunded the money when requested.
  • Legal Action: An FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS, and Section 24 of the Immigration Act.
