The UAE government has introduced a dedicated suite of consular services for its Golden Visa holders, enhancing their protection and support while abroad. The initiative aims to ensure prompt assistance in emergencies and streamline travel documentation for long-term residents under the prestigious residency program.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Golden Visa holders can now access a 24/7 emergency hotline (+971 24 931133) for immediate assistance in cases such as passport loss, accidents, or crises abroad. In a major convenience boost, the ministry will also issue an electronic Return Document within 30 minutes for those who lose or damage their passports while overseas, allowing them to re-enter the UAE without delay.
The new framework extends further support, including coordination with local authorities during emergencies, repatriation or burial assistance in the event of death abroad, and streamlined procedures through UAE embassies and consulates worldwide.
Launched in 2019, the UAE’s Golden Visa program offers long-term residency of up to 10 years to investors, entrepreneurs, skilled professionals, and outstanding students. By introducing these new consular measures, the UAE aims to reinforce its commitment to the welfare of its residents and position the Golden Visa as one of the most secure and attractive long-term residency options globally.
