Saudi Arabia has announced a historic reform allowing all valid visa holders—regardless of type—to perform Umrah, the annual Islamic pilgrimage. This move aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative to boost religious tourism and diversify its economy.

Previously, only select visa categories were eligible to undertake Umrah. Under the new policy, any valid visa holder can now register for the pilgrimage. Pilgrims are required to use the official Nusuk platform to manage registrations, hotel bookings, and transportation arrangements, ensuring a streamlined and organized experience.

For 2025, Umrah visa holders must enter Saudi Arabia by April 13 and exit by April 29 to participate in the pilgrimage. Authorities have emphasized compliance with these dates to avoid disruptions.

This reform is expected to enhance accessibility to Umrah for Muslims worldwide and reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to modernize its religious tourism infrastructure.
