- Initial Contact: The doctor connected with the alleged fraudster, "Shailesh Parekh," on a matrimonial site in 2010. They maintained regular communication without financial transactions until late 2024.
- Visa Assistance Offer: In late 2024, seeking to attend her nephew's convocation in the U.S., the doctor approached Parekh for visa assistance. He agreed, requesting over ₹2 lakh between December 2024 and February 2025.
- Revelation of Fraud: On February 15, 2025, an unintentional video call from Parekh's number displayed him in a Mumbai auto-rickshaw, contradicting his claim of residing in the U.S.
- Police Action: The doctor filed a complaint with Juhu police, leading to a cheating case against Shailesh Parekh and an associate, Beena Shailesh Parekh. Authorities are actively investigating the matter.
