US visa fraud: Vegetable vendor loses ₹20.85 lakh

According to police reports, the fraudsters convinced the victim to pay a large sum in installments, assuring him of a lucrative job and smooth visa processing. After the payments were made, the accused cut off all contact and disappeared, leaving the vendor in financial distress.

The victim later filed a complaint with the police, who have registered a case and launched an investigation under relevant sections related to cheating and criminal breach of trust.
