The Central Crime Station (CCS) in Hyderabad has booked the proprietor of Global Horizons Consultancy for allegedly duping students and their families of nearly ₹1 crore by promising overseas education and employment opportunities.

The case came to light after a complaint by Mohammed Kabir, a businessman from Purani Haveli, who accused the consultancy of cheating him of ₹22.3 lakh. Kabir said his son and nephew were assured admission and visas for Budapest Metropolitan University, Hungary, but were instead given fake invoices, forged offer letters, and bogus VFS appointment confirmations.

Police said the consultancy owner abruptly shut down his office in early August and has been missing since. His residence in Tolichowki was also found locked, and his brother has filed a missing person report.

Following Kabir’s complaint, several others have come forward, claiming they too were defrauded in similar ways. The total amount siphoned is estimated at around ₹1 crore.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the CCS has registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation. Authorities are tracing the money trail, examining forged documents, and working to locate the accused.

Police have urged students and parents to remain vigilant against fraudulent consultancies and to verify overseas admission and visa processes directly with universities and official government channels.
