A woman from Nathuchahal village near Kapurthala has reported losing ₹4 lakh in an alleged visa fraud after being promised overseas placement for her daughter. Police have registered an FIR against the accused, identified as Jasbir Ram of Bullowal village.

According to the complaint, the accused assured the woman that he could arrange travel documents and a job for her daughter in Spain. After receiving the money, he allegedly failed to provide any documents or make arrangements as promised. The victim stated that despite repeated follow-ups, the accused kept delaying and offering false assurances.

When no progress was made, the woman approached the police. Phagwara police confirmed that a case has been filed and further investigation is underway. No arrests have been made so far.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious of unregistered agents offering visas and overseas job opportunities, as similar fraud cases continue to surface in the region.
