A couple from Adalaj, Gujarat, has fallen victim to a work visa scam, losing ₹18 lakh to fraudulent agents promising overseas employment. The agents, identified as Payal Prajapati and Prashant Parmar, assured the victims of a job in Canada with a salary of CAD 3,600 per month.

How the Scam Unfolded:

The couple paid ₹12 lakh in mid-2023 for a Canadian work permit, which never arrived.
The agents later offered a job in Singapore and demanded ₹6 lakh more.
In Singapore, the couple received fake "training employment passes" instead of valid work permits.
After their visas expired, they returned to India and demanded a refund, which was never provided.

Legal Action Taken:

After months of false assurances, the victims filed a complaint with CID (Crime) Ahmedabad Zone. The agents are now booked for fraud, and an investigation is underway.

Warning: Authorities urge job seekers to verify visa consultants before making payments. Always check credentials and avoid upfront payments for work visas.
