Application Form For National Visa

About permanent residence:

A permanent residence permit in Slovakia allows foreign nationals to live in the country for an extended period and permits them to travel abroad and return. This type of residence is more stable and longer-lasting compared to temporary residence. Foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit enjoy similar rights and responsibilities as Slovak Republic citizens in many aspects of life, including employment, healthcare, social affairs, and regional-level public participation.

There are three types of permanent residence:

  1. Permanent residence for five years.
  2. Permanent residence for an unlimited duration.
  3. Long-term residence.

A third-country national who has been granted permanent residence for five years can apply for permanent residence for an unlimited duration after just four years. The application for permanent residence for five years should be made in person at a Slovak diplomatic mission abroad or the Foreign Police Department in Slovakia. Applications for permanent residence for an unlimited duration and long-term residence should be submitted in person at the Foreign Police Department within Slovakia’s territory.
