  • Indian citizens should submit their application at a BLS International center in Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore.
  • Family members of EU citizens must contact the Embassy directly via email at cons.delhi@mzv.sk for an appointment.
  • Nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka should apply through the Embassy of Slovakia in New Delhi.

  • Fill out the Schengen visa application form and sign it.

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned stay.
  • Passport-sized photo: Recent photo (within the last 6 months) with a white background.
  • Proof of Travel Purpose: Documents showing the reason for your visit (e.g., tourism, business, family visit, etc.).
  • Proof of Financial Sufficiency: Documents showing you can support yourself financially during your stay in Slovakia.
  • Travel Itinerary: A confirmed round-trip flight booking with fixed travel dates within 90 days.
  • Travel Insurance: Valid medical insurance for the entire trip in the Schengen area, with coverage of at least 30,000 EUR.
  • For Minors: Additional documents such as the child’s birth certificate and a parental consent letter (if applicable).

  • Fingerprints will be collected during your appointment at the BLS International center. This is mandatory unless exempted (e.g., children under 12, those physically unable to provide fingerprints).
  • If you've provided biometric data in the last 5 years, it may be reused for future applications.

  • The fee is 80 EUR for adults and 40 EUR for minors (ages 6-12).
  • Payment is made in Indian rupees (INR) at the time of appointment at BLS International or via the Embassy's bank account.

  • Schedule your appointment via the BLS International website for Indian citizens.
  • Nationals from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka must email cons.delhi@mzv.sk to arrange an appointment.

  • The visa processing time is usually 15 calendar days but may extend up to 45 days for further scrutiny.

  • Passports can be collected from the BLS center or the Embassy between 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on weekdays.

Application Form For National Visa

If you want to study, live, or work in Slovakia for over 90 days, you must get a Slovakia D visa. It’s also called a National visa, lasts for one year, and lets you stay in other Schengen countries for up to three months at a time.

 

VISA APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

The process for applying for a Slovakia study visa (National D Visa) from India typically involves the following steps:

1. Understand Visa Categories

  • National D visas are for stays exceeding 90 days.
  • They can be granted for purposes such as employment, education, family reunification, or other special conditions outlined by the Slovak Republic.

2. Check Appointment Availability

  • Appointments are allocated based on priority regulations.
  • Employment-related D visa appointments for low/medium-skilled jobs are suspended until further notice.
  • Appointments for other purposes (e.g., family reunification, study) are available via email and opened on the first working day of each month.

3. Prepare Required Information for Email Requests

  • Send appointment requests to cons.delhi@mzv.sk.
  • Include the following in your email:
    • Full name, surname, and date of birth.
    • Passport number.
    • Purpose of stay (clearly mention the visa category).
    • Attach the main supporting document (e.g., marriage certificate, scholarship letter, job offer).
  • Do not attach unnecessary documents to avoid disqualification.

4. Submit Visa Application

  • For temporary residence-related visas, submit original documents that are no older than 90 days.
  • Applicants with an already granted residence permit can apply in person without an appointment (Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM).

5. Gather Required Documents

  • General Documents:
    1. Completed national visa application form.
    2. Valid passport (at least 90 days validity beyond intended departure).
    3. Recent full-face passport-sized photo (3 x 3.5 cm, ICAO standard).
    4. Document confirming purpose of stay (e.g., job offer, acceptance letter).
    5. Proof of health insurance valid for the visa duration.
  • Additional Documents (Based on Visa Type):
    • Employment: Employment contract or letter, proof of education.
    • Education: Acceptance letter, proof of accommodation, proof of financial means (€56 per day of stay).
    • Family Reunification: Proof of relationship, dependency documents (if applicable).

6. Superlegalization

  • For certain documents, apply for superlegalization (accepted Mondays and Tuesdays, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM). This process may take several days.

7. Submit Application at the Embassy

  • Location: Slovak Embassy, New Delhi.
  • Submission is by prior appointment, except for certain in-person applications.

8. Await Decision

  • The processing time varies depending on the visa category and workload of the embassy.

9. Follow Embassy Updates

  • Regularly monitor announcements on appointment openings and policy changes.
