TURKIYE WORK PERMIT APPLICATION:

A work permit is a document that foreigners need to get from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Türkiye if they want to work and live there. It’s illegal to work in Türkiye without it, and you can get in trouble if you do.

Work permits in Türkiye can come in three types: Temporary, Permanent, and Independent.

  1. Temporary Work Permit
    • A Temporary Work Permit in Türkiye is initially granted for up to one year to a foreigner whose work permit application is approved. This is applicable when they work in a specific job at a particular workplace owned by an individual, company, public institution, or organization. The permit’s duration should not surpass the term specified in their employment or service contract.
  1. Long-term residence permit
    • Foreigners who hold a long-term residence permit or have held a legal work permit for a minimum of eight years can apply for a Permanent Work Permit in Türkiye. It’s important to note that meeting the application criteria doesn’t automatically grant the foreigner unconditional legal rights.
    • Those holding permanent work permits are entitled to the same privileges as Turkish citizens, with exceptions related to their existing social security rights. Their rights are governed by applicable laws, except for any special regulations.
  1. Independent work permit
    • Foreigners in professional jobs can get Independent Work Permits for a set time if they meet specific conditions under other laws. The permits are granted based on factors like education, experience, contribution to science, and economic impact. You can apply for these permits in Türkiye or abroad, and the procedures differ depending on where you apply.
