Denmark Shortage Occupation List: Detailed Guide

What Is the Positive List for Skilled Work?

The Positive List for Skilled Work features occupations in high demand in Denmark due to a shortage of qualified professionals.

If you’ve received a job offer in one of these occupations, you may be eligible to apply for a residence and work permit under this scheme.

The list is revised twice a year, on January 1st and July 1st, to reflect changes in the Danish labor market.

If your job offer is in a field that requires a university-level education and is also experiencing a skills shortage, you may qualify for a permit under the Positive List for the Highly Educated.

As an asylum seeker, if you secure employment in an occupation on the Positive List for Skilled Work, you are also eligible to apply through this route.
